A System Prototype for Solving Multi-granularity Temporal CSP

چکیده
Time granularity constraint reasoning is likely to have a relevant role in emerging applications like GIS, time management in the Web and Personal Information Management applications for mobile systems. This paper reports recent advances in the development of a system for solving temporal constraint satisfaction problems where distance constraints are specified in terms of arbitrary time granularities.

Spatio-temporal Multi-granularity: Modelling and Implementation Challenges
Multiple spatial and temporal granularities are essential to extract significant knowledge from datasets at different levels of detail: they enable to zoom-in and zoom-out a dataset, enhancing the data modelling flexibility and being instrumental to boost the analysis of information. Implementing granularities poses several interesting problems. Specifically, in this paper we analyse the issues...
متن کاملOn modeling of large-scale environments for solving spatio- temporal planning problems
the paper introduces a cognitively motivated approach for structuring and representing of unfamiliar large-scale environments. The proposed regionbased representation facilitates collaborative spatio-temporal planning, where problem solving process is shared between a user and an assistance system. The problem domain is structured hierarchically into regions resembling human decision space. The...
متن کاملScheduling Multi - Capacitated Resourcesunder Complex Temporal
Most CSP scheduling models make the restrictive assumption that a resource can only support a single activity at a time (i.e., it is either available or in-use). However, in many practical domains, resources in fact have the capability to simultaneously support multiple activities, and hence availability at any point is a function of unallocated capacity. In this paper, we develop and evaluate ...

متن کاملAn Approach to Numeric Refinement in Description Logic Learning for Learning Activities Duration in Smart Homes
In spatio-temporal reasoning, granularity is one of the factors to be considered when aiming at an effective and efficient representation of space and time. There is a large body of work which addresses the issue of granularity by representing space and time on a qualitative level. Other approaches use a predefined scale which implicitly determines granularity (e.g., seconds, minutes, hours, da...
